Congratulations to the 2018 Michael D. Ferugio Scholarship Awardees!

The Penn State Alumni Association, NYC Chapter hosted over 60 people in Central Park on August 12th for our Annual Student Sendoff and Ice Cream Social. Anxious parents, eager incoming freshmen, and nostalgic alumni joined for a great afternoon of food, fun, and games. The pre-move-in jitters of 20+ families were quelled by our great alumni volunteers as well as representatives from Penn State Admissions and the Parents Council on the last Sunday before move-in at Dear Old State–The ice cream didn’t hurt either!

Not only is this event the culmination of the summer for these future Nittany Lions, but it is the culmination of the fundraising season for the Chapter as the awardees of the Michael D. Ferugio Scholarship are announced at the event.

This year, the scholarship committee received the most applications since the scholarship’s inception and we were able to award the largest amount of money to date! We are so proud of our scholarship winners, Jacquelyn Stochel and Nicholas Sorace, who were each awarded nearly $3,200 in scholarship money for the upcoming school year.
