We invite you to join us for the Second Annual Hope Gala: It's Up to You, New York!
Inspired by our HOPE for a cure, Penn State alumni in the greater New York City area created The Hope Gala in 2008 to support Penn State Dance Marathon (THON)-the world's largest student-run philanthropy. THON has raised more than $52 million to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital and is supported year-round by students and alumni alike, who have joined together to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.
The 2010 Hope Gala will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 7:30 PM. The event will be hosted by former PSU and NFL football star LaVar Arrington. It is certain to be another night to remember, complete with first-class dining, live entertainment, a silent auction, and personal stories from those who have been touched by THON the most.
Tickets are $175, plus an online processing fee. $50 of each ticket price is tax deductible; click here to request a letter denoting your purchase. *Please note, NO tickets will be available at the door. You must buy your ticket in advance.*
About THON
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, with all proceeds benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer, at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. After a year-round fundraising effort by the students of all Penn State campuses, THON culminates in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleep Dance Marathon in the Bryce Jordan Center.
Over the past 37 years, the students of THON have raised over $50 million dollars and have helped thousands of children and families in their fight against pediatric cancer. Last year alone, THON raised nearly $7.5 million dollars for the Four Diamond's Fund, supporting its mission to conquer childhood cancer. New York area alumni and friends will now have the opportunity to play a role in what has become one of Penn State 's greatest and most unifying traditions.
